What a day!

Today has already been crazy! It was a very emotional morning at work. One of my coworkers 2 month old baby was sent to the emergency room because she stopped breathing. Please keep her and her family in your prayers, they are very shocked and afraid.

On a brighter note only one final to go and twelve days until I am Mrs. Norman Welch!
Yay for finshed wedding plans!

What a week!

It has been a long and busy week! Although it has been productive as well! As of yesterday we are two weeks out from the big day!
My last final is on this coming Tuesday and after that I am home free to finish wedding stuff. However, I do not have a lot more to finish. I just have to finsih putting our slide show together, make schedules for everyone and make a few CDs.
I am super exctied for all that is to come and I am looking forward to a nice Rocky Mountain vacation!

ALMOST THERE!

This is a recording of chapter twelve in the book of Romans, read from the Message translation. I really love how it reads and it is a great passage of scripture to live by. There is a lot of good stuff in there, thanks Paul :)

Home Sweet Home

So, we got the keys to the house we are renting on last Friday. It was a very, very busy weekend. However, we got a lot of work done. Not only did we have a bridal shower and manage to help clean up Norm's grandparent's yard, but we also painted three rooms of the house, cleaned and set up most of the kitchen stuff!

We are so excited that the wedding is almost here and can not wait to be married! Only 26 days to go!

The Count Down!

So, as of today we are officially one month away from the big day! I am so excited to finally be seeing some of our plans coming together. Today I am going to try on my dress to see if the alterations turned out alright and then hopefully take it home!

There are also a few exciting things going on this weekend. On Saturday people from church and Norman's family are throwing us a shower. We have been blessed with just about everything we need thus far. I am hoping that we are going to get our house on Saturday as well. We are not supposed to get it until next weekend, but it is empty already from the prior tenant, so we may be getting in early!

More updates to come! 30 days :D!

What a weekend!

This past weekend was quite the wedding preparation weekend. On Saturday I had my dress fitted, which went very well. I also got to take my mom shopping for her dress. We did not have such great luck with her shopping, but we will find something eventually. Some friends of mine from Grace also threw me a bridal shower that was really fun. They are great girls to have around. I then finished of my Saturday with baby sitting some kids from the early childhood center that I work at it.
Sunday was also busy. After church my almost mother and sister in law spent most of the afternoon shoe shopping. We bought nine pairs of shoes! Holy Canoli! I think my favorite are the flower girl's shoes because they are EXACTLY like mine, it is going to be so cute :)!
It was a great and productive weekend! Only 82 days to go!

Purpose

As of yesterday, there are only ninety days to go until my wedding! I am going to be a Welch! I am going to use this blog to document and update what I am doing the last three months of my unwed life! To start, I will tell you the story of how Norman and I met.

Norman and I first met about seven years ago. He was a junior in high school and I was in the eight grade. Each of our youth groups teamed up for a youth retreat. When I first saw him I thought he was really cute and had a pathetic middle school crush on him, but since he was so much older, we were just friends. Just after my freshman year of high school we got to go on a mission trip together and I still really liked him and it was beginning to drive me insane. So, I decided to tell him. When I finally did, HE TURNED ME AWAY :0! To be honest though, I was not shocked, although I was a little disappointed. I was glad to at least have gotten it off my chest.
Even though we were not dating, we continued to be friends and he went to my sophomore homecoming with me. To say the least, it was a bit awkward, but hey he still went with me. About seven months go by after my confession to him and I am finally starting to get over my disappointment (pathetic. yes I know :). One day at church Norman tells me he needs to talk to me after church. I did not know what to do! "Did I do something wrong?" "Was I in trouble?” When he finally did get to speak to me, he let me know that he had made a mistake and I quote "would like to pursue a relationship with me". I think I freaked him out because I just gave him a blank stare. Seven months of fighting disappointment and now this!? However, I accepted the offer to go on date, only after we had received our pastor's blessing.
About two weeks later we went on our first date. Wendy's and Family Fun Center. It was a particularly classy night filled with double cheeseburgers and video games. When he was driving me home that night he told me we were going to stop at a park or something. We drove around a little aimlessly, until we came upon an empty parking lot at a recently closed grocery store. He parked on the side of the building and got out of the car. It was below freezing and snowing and he around and asked me to get out of the car. I was a little freaked out to be honest. Then I heard a song start playing softly in the background (May I have this Dance). He explained to me that he did not feel he was a very good date to my homecoming, being that he did not speak much the entire night (like I said, it was an awkward night). So, he was making it up to me by asking me to dance. It was so sweet! I went home and balled my eyes out for an hour. I felt so loved! I had never had someone treat me so nice.
Four and a half years later, after many trials and opposition, he proposed to me in that same parking lot to the same song. I have never been more excited in my life. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, caring man in my life! I can't wait to call him my husband!
